LEGO® Robotics 101: What is LEGO® Robotics?

LEGO® Robotics 101: What is LEGO® Robotics?

LEGO®, the plastic construction toy that was once only used for playing is now building a reputation in the education community. With the use of LEGO® Robotics, teachers are changing the way that children are engaged in their learning.

LEGO® Robotics is a teaching method that uses LEGO® brick kits to help young students learn the basic engineering and computer programming principles needed to build and program simple robotic machines.

The LEGO® Robotics platform is an innovative, new educational tool that helps give every child the chance to reach their full potential. LEGO® Robotics create a unique system for learning that combines an entertaining, hands-on approach designed to help students stay engaged from the beginning to end.

More and more teachers around the world are using LEGO® Robotics to teach students science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) concepts using a different, more active approach. By using LEGOs® instead of other more traditional approaches to STEM education like textbooks, worksheets and labs, teachers can engage students in a more meaningful way. While the ultimate emphasis is placed on education, it is the fun and informal method that helps students retain and apply the concepts that they’ve learned.

Each activity has a clearly defined set of instructions and goals geared to help students achieve that “aha moment” where the concept clicks in their head. This system takes the learning material off the page and puts it in front of them in a visual, easy to understand way. With the increased amount of schools incorporating LEGO® robotics into their curricula, this will ensure that children can clearly understand these concepts early on to better equip them as they progress through school and onto the work force.

Outside of the classroom, after school enrichment programs like those offered by e² Young Engineers  utilizes custom LEGO® brick kits to help instil theoretical STEM concept to children of all ages. Their sessions provide theoretical knowledge and practical implementation of STEM basics through the use of K’nex®, Engino® and LEGO® brick kits and specialized lesson plans.

Why not change a child’s life today? Consider learning more about owning your own e² Young Engineers franchise and help the children in your community the platform they need to achieve their true potential.
